Locations
We currently run these schemes at Watling View School in St Albans & Hobbs Hill Wood School in Hemel Hempstead, but other venues are used from time-to-time, including St Luke's school in Redbourn, Southfield School in Hatfield and The Collett School in Hemel Hempstead.
Our Holiday Playschemes are divided into two groups: over 12s and under 12s.
A day at SNAP Holiday Playscheme starts at 10am and finishes at 3pm, with the charge for the full 5 hour day being £17.50 per child (SBLO). SNAP aims to be a fully inclusive organisation and is committed to supporting people through financial hardship. We subsidise the cost of our services to those in receipt of Employment Support Allowance.
Activities
At SNAP Holiday Playschemes we try to make the day as fun as possible with the aim of enabling our young members to meet and make friends, have fun and enjoy new experiences.
Occasionally we will arrange outings to places like local parks, activity farms as well as swimming during the summer, but otherwise the scheme will be based at the school.
We organise themed events for Christmas, Halloween, and Easter and we will also run extra activities like party games, water play, projector light relaxation, treasure hunts, and sensory play/stories during them.
We sometimes have external visitors like Science Boffins, Pets As Therapy (PAT) Dogs, sensory story groups, and music groups.
We have recently had Disco Ducks (dancing) and a visit from the fire engine!
There is something for everyone at SNAP so please get in touch to enroll your child.
"As a parent of a child with severe autism and learning disabilities, finding a safe and supportive environment that my son can enjoy away from home has always been a priority and a challenge. Thankfully, SNAP has been a true lifeline for our family. The staff are not only exceptionally trained but also genuinely caring and patient. They understand the unique needs of children like my son and go above and beyond to ensure he is comfortable and happy. What stands out the most is the peace of mind I have when my son is at SNAP. I know he's in a safe environment where he is understood and supported. The club has made a significant difference in his life, allowing him to experience joy and social interaction in a setting tailored to his needs. I wholeheartedly recommend SNAP to any parent of a child with special educational needs. It's a place where every child is valued, and their unique qualities are celebrated."
